2010-Present Design Consultant/Architect advising on educational and community projects. Working as part of TA Technical Adviser team on the Wolverhampton BSF programme on the non-sample schools. Member of the design review panel on both southwark and essex schools programme. Working with various teams on a collaborative basis to think through the new schools landscape in the light of recent development both in the UK and abroad and giving advice to local community projects.

2006-2010 Design Manager at Partnerships for Schools responsible for delivering the BSF Building Schools for the Future renewing 3500 secondary school in England over 15 years with a £45b budget. My role was working with 30 local authorities in central and west England including greater London from waves 1 to 7 managing the design process and scoping to ensure the high design quality within budget and programme parameters.

2004-2006 Academies external consultant architect working on the 200 city academes £5b programme responsible for: CDA/Technical & Audit advice to the DCSF SCDT/ Academies / Architectural Design from Inception to Completion / Programme Management / Briefing and Design Brief Management /Contract Administration.  Involved in the developing designs for Hackney 2, Harefield, Leigh and Waltham Forest Academies. My role included giving advice and support to a number of local authorities: Site visits and feasibility studies, architect and cpm construction project manager appointments and feedback, sponsor liaison, brief and design development with team.


2003-204 Senior Architect at HLM (design and team leader) designing the primary and nursery schools as part of the Bexley Business Academy Refurbishment and re-modelling of an existing courtyard building formerly a school and then offices. Client liaison, feasibility study, brief and design development with DfES and 3e’s education adviser through to design and production information

1995-2003 LB of Tower Hamlets

PFI Design £60m 40 schools (Design Leader) preparation of sample reference schemes for 8 schools and working with bid architects and school client to develop designs to complete proposals

Beatrice Tate special school hydrotherapy pool and support facilities (site supervision) working within tight existing school while in operation

Central Foundation Girls  (design and site supervision) performing arts centre extension and re-modelling within the existing school building to develop school specialism

St Paul’s Way Community 1. feasibility study for new school and community sports facilities. 2. design and site supervision : school visual arts college remodelling to existing design and technology facilities

Harry Gosling (design and site supervision) classroom glazed extensions to site extent and remodelling within existing primary victorian board school to provide creative art and landscape spaces

1989-1990 Maguire and Co Design and working drawing programmes for the new build King Saud University, Al Gassim, in Saudi Arabia
